DQSH NYC Art

ABOUT

Drag Queen Story Hour NYC provides a range of fun and fabulous educational experiences for children and teens from 3 to 18 years old in libraries, schools, museums, and community spaces in all five boroughs of New York City—and now virtually! Through storytelling and creativity, DQSH teaches children about gender diversity and all forms of difference to build empathy and give kids the confidence to express themselves however they feel comfortable.

EVENTS

DQSH events take place at libraries, schools, museums, festivals, parks, block parties, bookstores, play spaces, workplaces, and cultural and community institutions around the city, and also virtually. In 2019 we produced 185 events across all five boroughs and served approximately 4000 children. In 2020 we produced 36 in-person programs and 118 virtual programs, serving 1246 children in person and thousands more virtually. The vast majority of our programs are free to attend.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT US

DQSH is really about connecting with kids, helping them to understand identity and intersectionality.
